Initial plans for this trip did not include a stop over in Paris. During discussions about the trip, it was mutually decided that no trip to France would be complete without a side trip to Paris, to include the Mona Lisa, Eiffel Tower and the Arch de Triomphe.
So we left London at 7:01 am on the Eurostar and arrived in Paris at 10:23. We caught a taxi to our hotel, dropped our luggage off, and were at the Louvre Gallery by 12:00 noon. Linda and I had the opportunity on a previous trip to view the Mona Lisa, so we had lunch while waiting on Mary Ann and Jerry. Then our driver took us to see the Arch and then the Eiffel Tower. I might add this was certainly a harrowing ride, to say the least. Our driver has an instagram account, where he posts "selfies" of himself and his passengers. All of this while he is driving like a mad man through the Paris traffic. What is any trip without a little excitement?
Upon finishing our mission, we returned to our hotel and walked along the "Rue Cler" street. We took a seat at a sidewalk cafe and people watched for about an hour. We returned to our hotel and I got caught up on my blog entries.
I might add, while on Rue Cler, there was a gentleman across the street from us in the 3rd floor of an apartment building who was putting on quite a show for the public. He was jay bird naked, walking from window to window, for all the world to see. I tried to take a picture but failed. It was hard to hit a moving target.
