Today the Imperial War Museum was first on the agenda. We decided to take the HOHO blue route to one stop and switch to the HOHO orange route to get closer to the IWM location, since there was not a stop near there. When we got off the blue bus, I asked the agent at that location when the orange bus was coming. She said in 15 minutes. We waited 30 minutes (patiently, I might add) for the orange bus. We checked again and
were told, only 4 minutes. About 15 minutes later the bus showed up. We road about 1/4 to 1/2 mile and got off at the next stop. We wasted 1 hour to ride a bus to save a 15 minute walk. I guess I was gun shy after our long walk from yesterday. (flash forward...we ended up walking 20,000 steps today)
The Imperial War Museum was very good. It concentrated more on WWI and less on WWII. later we had lunch and had our final fish and chips in England. I splurged an extra 1 pound and ordered fish and chips, deluxe.
We continued to walk up past Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and to the London Eye. There we boarded a riverboat for a "scenic" tour of the Thames River, ending at the Tower of London Pier.
For dinner we went to St Katherine's Docks and joined other tourists for a special treat to a Medieval Dinner. Fun to be had by all. We were especially surprised when Linda got up and joined in a group dance. Hankins and I had a photo op with the king. Did not catch his name. Our tablemates were from Australia and Belgium A fun evening.
We then retired for the evening for an early go the next day. Eurostar to Paris, the City of Lights.
